My name’s Ellen Raffaelle and I’m a Digital Marketing grad student pursuing my MBA at Rochester Institute of Technology. I did my four years of undergrad at RIT as well, where I studied International Hospitality and Tourism Management. I find the field of marketing fascinating because it requires you to strike a balance between both creative and analytical thinking. I’m particularly interested in the use of analytics in digital marketing to translate customer behavior into actionable business data. Last semester I took a Marketing Analytics class where I learned about sentiment analysis, customer retention, clustering techniques and customer lifetime value. My favorite part of this course was performing a sentiment analysis on Amazon reviews for various products within the same product category.

I’ve made it to 20 different countries in my 24 years, and worked for RIT’s study abroad office for 5 years now. One of my favorite memories from traveling was skydiving above the the Palm Jumeirah in Dubai.
