Throughout all of my marketing experiences I’ve noticed the common theme of “leaving a positive impact” with my own flavor of jazz thrown in to make it special. Hey! My name is Daniel Vasilew and I appreciate your cooperation for arriving to this page and learning a little bit about me. Currently, I find it weird knowing that I am finally approaching graduation this semester at RIT. It feels like I just finished up Freshman year and skipped right into Senior year. I am just happy knowing that I will be leaving college with awesome friends and great memories.  I started out at this school with a major in Computer Science. Needless to say, coding is not my strong suit. This was my first semester here. I decided to switch over to New Media Marketing and have enjoyed it since.

Marketing was something I became really fascinated in. This is because there are so many different aspects to it and it always presents a challenge. I have always enjoyed being creative and I enjoy thinking about the bigger picture. To me, marketing is about understanding who the consumer is and what captures their attention. The classes that I have taken so far have been enjoyable and now I am about to graduate. I look forward to working out in the real world and bringing my marketing skills  to a company I might end up working at one day.

With this in mind, there is one thing I want to do and that is to work in the gaming industry for a company such as Ubisoft or Rockstar. They really know how to market their video games and this is something I would like to partake in one day.

So, if you have any interest at all as to who I am, then I would highly advise that you take a look at my resume and linkedin profile. It would make my day ten times better.

Creating tons of new relationships and memories that will carry on with me for a lifetime. Significantly expanding my knowledge of the business world and how various aspects of business operates. Now integrating the immense world of the internet to that mix, and the possibilities are endless. Through devoted motivation I intend to utilize my digital skills and marketing knowledge to change the world of internet marketing, for the better.

Aside from trying to change the world, I have a strong love for cars. Since I was born I’ve been eating, sleeping, and breathing cars. Not literally of course, but intensive enough to where I can name every cars make, model, and engine inside a large parking lot. In addition to my passion in cars, I find movies and TV series enjoyable. More specifically pieces of art that reflect the essence of cinematic film making and incorporate the use of symbolism effectively.

Brooke Stoddart – Division I Student Athlete

Hello! My Name is Brooke Stoddart, I am currently in my fourth year majoring New Media Marketing with a minor is Exercise Science.

While attending school I also am a goaltender on the RIT Women’s Hockey Team. Being a student athlete at the Division I level has been a goal of mine since I was 8 years old, being able to live out that dream has been an experience I will never forget. As a student athlete one learns the of skill time manage very quickly, balancing being on the road, homework/studying when a 6-hour chunk out of your day is taken up on video session, workouts and practice is not an easy feat.

In the past our team has had some success winning back-to-back championships in the College Hockey America Conference. After our 2nd year in the conference and our first year of eligible our team advanced to the NCAA tournament making it to the Elite Eight, all of this accomplished in the first 5 years being granted Division I status. If you’d like to stay updated with the latest news regarding the team feel free to visit the RIT Women’s Hockey Page.

Balancing school, hockey and a social life has been interesting and an experience that I would not change for the world. It is helped me grow as a person and provided me with some life lesson that will be very beneficial in the future as I begin my new path in life.

I have been very fortunate to work for Key Mortgage Partners an extremely successful mortgage brokerage company where I was able to implement a social media presence on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Working with this successful company allowed me to experience what a top company expects from its employees and the importance of their clientele. Therefore making a friendly but informational presence on social media was a must.

I have also been fortunate to have a summer co-op with the Barrie Colts Hockey Team who is apart of the Ontario Hockey League. This was also a great experience in a field that I loved, as I was able to work with a hockey team behind the scenes designing social media campaigns, developing special game night events, and creating content for social media. Being able to still be apart of a hockey team may it be from a different position allowed me use my passion for the game along with my knowledge from my degree really helped me thrive in this position.

Hey there! My name is Alexis Ton. I’m a fourth year student at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), double majoring in New Media Marketing and Management Information Systems with an immersion in Urban Studies. I came to RIT thinking that I was going to graduate with a marketing degree, but after being introduced to the more technical aspects of business I decided to dive into double majoring in New Media Marketing and Management Information Systems.

I always had a passion to learn about consumer behavior and how to creatively implement that into business marketing strategies. Now, I’ve expanded my boundaries and have embraced the endless opportunities in the digital world. Marketing in the digital world has its benefits over traditional marketing – it can read and target customers more closely and efficiently across multiple platforms. As a digital marketer, I know how the internet works to understand what kind of person you are, and how it can persuade you to choose one site over another.

After changing my major to New Media Marketing, I decided to take on my other major: Management Information Systems (MIS). Developing information systems catches my interest because it promotes organization, seamless work experience, and overall efficiency within a business. Optimization is a major goal in most businesses, and developing a system that works is a vital key to achieving it.

Open Source Resume

Hi, I’m Ryan Morgenlander and I’m a New Media  Marketing Major because I hate marketing. At least, I hate standard marketing. It’s a lot of bad, tacky commercials and companies trying to capitalize on internet culture. It’s frankly depressing, the lack of innovation found in current advertising. But there is hope! Some companies have figured out that the key is engaging with your audience, and that’s what I’m doing here. ARGs, clever viral marketing, and I’m here to prove that all of this works.

Despite me wrapping up a business degree, my true passion is non-traditional art. As such, I’ve decided to turn this little project into a social experiment. This is my original resume. Every single day I’ll be posting a different poll to this Facebook page. Each poll will focus a different aspect of the resume, to be determined by everyone who votes. The font, the color, pictures to use, even how I describe the places I’ve worked. Each day I’ll post an updated version of the resume so you can all see how far it’s gone. Maybe I’ll let the page make up some fake things to put on my resume, we’ll see how it goes. 😉

If you want to help curate a poor college student’s resume, or ruin his life, it’s up to you! Because no matter the result of this experiment, I’ll be bringing this resume to my school’s career fair, and will report on what happens. For a more clear idea of who I am and what I do, be sure to check out my LinkedIn

Lucia Forte

Hello! My name is Lucia Forte. I am a senior at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) majoring in digital media marketing and immersing in communication. I’m originally from Utica, New York which is about 2 hours East of Rochester, New York.

Some of my work experience outside of course related work includes a marketing communications co-op over the Summer of 2016 at Indium Corporation, as a marketing communications intern. At Indium Corporation, I was overseeing the internship blog page, working on updating the e-commerce website, and creating internal/external announcements. I am also currently doing a part-time digital marketing co-op at Brandmint, where I am creating a website on Squarespace, creating and posting content for social media posts, working on the blog, and reaching out to local publications in-order to promote the company. I also plan on doing another co-op during the summer of 2017  in-order to gain as much experience as possible before heading into the workplace.

After graduating, I wish to work for a marketing company that specializes in marketing for pharmaceutical and health corporations globally. I also hope to continue my education and work towards a degree in health studies.

In between my co-ops and school work I also work part‐time as the head hostess at Black and Blue Steak and Crab which is a restaurant in Pittsford, New York.

Shruti Kapoor – Marketer in the making!

Hello! My name is Shruti Kapoor and I am a fourth year student here at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).
My anticipated graduation is this coming May, 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in New Media Marketing, International and Global Studies (INGS) and my immersion being in Spanish. I was not originally a double major. I started out with INGS, but end of freshman year decided to double major because I wanted to take up the opportunity to learn something that is up-and-coming, new, and exciting. RIT is very flexible in that sense because students aren’t limited to just one major. I am originally from New Delhi, India, but have travelled and lived in different countries before attending RIT, which has made me really passionate about both my majors.

I have been involved with different clubs and organizations over the course of my time at RIT and now as I am in the last leg of my undergraduate, I am trying to soak it all in. I love marketing for its creativity and INGS for allowing me to focus on important global issues and be able to make a difference someday! One of my biggest areas of interests is global marketing as I can make use of both my majors and not abandon one over the other. Post graduation, I would like to attend graduate school if given the opportunity and further continue studying marketing. In the long run, let’s say 10 years down the road, I want to work in the non-profit field.

If you would like to learn more about me, check out my Resume and/or connect with me on LinkedIn.

Thank you for visiting my page!

Ryan Black: Aspiring Creator of Media

My name is Ryan Black and I am a fourth year student studying New Media Marketing major at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). In addition to co-oping for RIT’s Saunders College of Business’s internal communications department, much of my time is currently spent as the Technology editor for the school’s magazine: Reporter.

Through my work for Reporter I’m come to decide to seek a career in media. Whether it’s content I’ve written myself, materials studied through course work, or pop culture I am a fan of, media is a great passion of mine; one that I wish to also become a profession. It is my hope to find a way in a professional capacity to create, market, or help facilitate media. The areas of pop culture I am most personally invested in are Film, Comics, Video Games, and Television.

Whether it’s from the perspective I have gained as a marketing student, or the one I have as a fan, I have come to see the value in thinking critically about content that is produced. Thinking about media to me has become more than just thinking about what it on the surface conveys, but also about the thought and deliberation that must have went into the construction of a piece of content itself.

In seeking a career in media, I hope to be able to learn from other perspectives and disciplines, as I’ve done at Reporter where multi-disciplinary collaboration is commonplace. It’s a dynamic that’s also made me ready (and even eager) to embrace the unconventional, as well as the unexpected.

Todd Skirving’s Student Athlete Profile

Hello Everyone,

RIT Men’s Hockey: Todd Skirving #17

My name is Todd Skirving and I would like to welcome you to my Search Engine and Marketing Analytics webpage through WordPress. I am a senior at the Rochester Institute of Technology  and this is my final capstone course left to take. In May 2017, I will graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in New Media Marketing. I will also graduate with a Bachelor of Science minor degree in Public Relations and Advertising. I currently play hockey for the RIT Men’s Hockey team. We have had some success over the past few years, winning back-to-back championships in the Atlantic Hockey Conference. You can keep up to date with all the latest news and updates on the RIT Hockey page and you can also view my Player Profile there as well. As I close in on my final few months at RIT, I am looking forward to what my future holds. RIT has prepared me both mentally and physically for the real world and I cannot wait to get started.

Upon graduation, I plan to continue my hockey career at the pro level wherever that may be. I believe that I will get myself into coaching before I use the degree that RIT has provided for me. Hockey is my life needless to say, so when the time comes for me to hang up the skates, I would love to still be involved with hockey, whether that is coaching younger kids or players at the junior and pro level. It would be a great way to give back after all those who gave to me during my hockey career.

Speaking of giving back, this year I teamed up with Muddy’s Buddies. They are a non-profitable organization in Rochester, NY that seeks to improve the quality of life of children and their families who have been touched by cancer or other chronic diseases. RIT Sports Zone did a great piece on them early in the year so be sure to check it out.

I encourage everyone to visit the several links provided throughout the post and to connect with me on a few different social media platforms. It will be a great way to connect and stay in touch. It will also be beneficial for any possible job opportunities or references in the future. Thank you for checking out my page.

Emma Jones All American Athlete

Hi, I’m Emma! I run around in circles for fun and am an ex game designer!

What I mean to say is I run track/cross country and was originally a game design major at RIT. The problem was I constantly found myself being interested in the business side of the major. This led to finding a passion for the world of marketing but I would love to eventually land a marketing related job in the gaming industry. Now I’m a 4th year New Media Marketing major with a minor in Web Design and Development.

I thought I wouldn’t share this in public…but there are some facts about me you should probably know. Please click here if you’re interested.

Andy Klingenberger – New Media Marketing Professional

Is there a more difficult thing to do than to write about yourself? What’s important to leave in? What’s better left out? And, the balance between self-aggrandizement and truth is a thin one.

I’ve been working in the marketing field for the past few years, as you can see from my LinkedIn profile. Right now I concentrate on the email end of marketing, designing nurturing programs through various marketing automation platforms. (I’ve used Pardot and Act-On extensively.) I do not, however, just handle the logic end of email marketing.

I also write the copy for those programs – as well as for one-off emails, sales users, and company communications. I can design a message that takes up 250 words, or I can distill it down to its essence if it needs to be put into 140 characters for Twitter. I’m adept at both – and despite what Vampire Weekend thinks, I still care about the Oxford Comma.

Want to see my experience in chronological, bulleted form? You can find a pdf of my resume right here.

Hire Me! – Ila Megidesh

Hi, I’m Ila! I am a fourth year New Media Marketing Student at RIT’s Saunders College of Business. My major focuses on online strategy (including SEO, social media marketing and website design), mobile technology, entrepreneurship and current global business trends. The major is unique because it strays far from traditional marketing tactics and textbook lecturing. The professors bring in their own real world experience and keep up-to-date on the innovations in marketing and technology. I have had several opportunities to develop my own marketing strategies for existing businesses and conceptualize my own businesses.

In conjunction with my major, I am minoring in Media Arts & Technology. Media Arts & Technology focuses on the workflow of print and digital media; how to execute an idea to a final output. The minor enables for proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite (mainly Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Bridge), an understanding of different output systems, color management and theory, page layout and design and advanced design critiquing abilities.

I am also completing a second minor in Economics and immersing in Advertising and Public Relations.

Given all my different fields of study, I feel I have a very diverse and well-rounded education that will enable me to take on different perspectives and think more critically when presented with obstacles within my professional career.
